Star of BBC Two’s Fast And Fearless: Britain’s Banger Racers Alfie Jones could be on the fast track to glory after taking a step up from racing mini stock cars.

Alfie, 14, who goes to Fulston Manor School, Sittingbourne, took part in the English Championships in Kings Lynn earlier this month, but was forced to retire. Despite the setback he now feels ready for the challenges of banger racing.

He said: “Banger racing is completely different from mini stocks. I need to concentrate on driving a faster car and racing in a different direction.”
