Sittingbourne: Appeal after serious crash in Staplehurst Road leaves three children in hospital

Three children were taken to hospital - one with serious injuries- after a car crashed into a brick wall in Sittingbourne.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the collision, which happened yesterday and involved a silver Citroen Xsara Picasso.

A 32-year-old woman from Sittingbourne was arrested at the scene on suspicion of drink driving and was released on bail until Sunday, December 11.

A four-year-old boy was taken to a London hospital where his condition is described as serious but stable.

The two other children were also hospitalised but only suffered minor injuries.

Detective sergeant Scott Lynch of Kent Police’s serious collision investigation unit said: "The incident happened on a busy a section of road at a time of day when people would have been coming home from school or work."
