Top bargains give a boost to hospice at Teynham event

Jan Lloyd at the Teynham table top sale in aid the Pilgrim Hospice in Canterbury.

A monthly table-top sale attracted more than 100 people.

Visitors made their way to Teynham Community Hall in Station Road to see what bargains they could pick up.

In all there was a dozen stallholders, the most organiser David Mann has had since he started the fundraiser six months ago.

Items for sale included arts and crafts, fresh produce and jewellery.

Donations on the door raised £20 for the Pilgrims Hospice in Canterbury.

Mr Mann, who lives in the village, said: “It’s not a huge amount but if we get that every time it soon mounts up. Every little helps as they say.”

The event is held every first Friday of the month at the hall between 10am and noon.
