A local authority wants your help to name its new waste collection vehicles.

Swale Borough Council has 24 bin lorries and four street-cleaning vehicles that need naming across Sittingbourne, Faversham and Sheppey.

People are being urged to “get creative” and send their suggestions to the council by the end of the month.

A spokesman said: “Can you help us name the new waste collection vehicles?

“You can comment your family-friendly suggestions on social media, or email them to NameABinLorry@swale.gov.uk.

“So get creative and get your suggestions to us by Tuesday, October 31.

“We'll then create a shortlist of the best ideas and you can then vote for your favourites.”

So far an array of cheeky names have been posted online.

They include Bin Diesel, The Flying Dustman, The Hulk, Bincent Van Gogh, Muck Norris, Dustbin Beiber and Speedy Gone Garbage.

This isn’t the first time a council has asked for the public’s help in naming their vehicles.

In 2020 Medway Council held a vote to name it’s road sweeper with its vehicle eventually being crowned as Bruce Springclean.
