Crash involving car and lorry blocks Castle Road, Eurolink, Sittingbourne

One person has been taken to hospital after a crash blocked a busy route in Sittingbourne.

A lorry and a car were involved in a head-on smash in Castle Road, on the Eurolink.

It happened outside the entrance to the Brickmakers Industrial Estate.

Police and ambulance crews attended.

An ambulance spokesman said: "We were called at around 2.20pm to a crash involving a car and a lorry on Castle Road in Sittingbourne.

"One ambulance crew was sent and they treated one patient suffering from injuries including back pain.

The crash has involved a lorry and a car

"They have recently left for Medway Maritime Hospital."

The road was reopened at about 4pm.
