A driver escaped serious injuries after a car overturned on a busy stretch of road.

Police were called to reports of a crash involving one vehicle on the Sittingbourne-bound carriageway of the A249 yesterday at 3.24pm.

It was reported a car had left the road and overturned about a mile away from Stockbury Roundabout.

An ambulance also attended for about an hour although the driver, who had exited the vehicle, did not require hospital treatment.
