Pine Lodge care home in Sittingbourne held a Hawaiian-themed charity day.

Grass skirts and garlands were all the rage at an Hawaiian-themed charity day.

Staff at Pine Lodge care home carried off the exotic look with some style, and in the process, helped raise money for the residents’ fund.

A total of £250 was collected through a bric-a-brac stall as well as tea and cake sales.

Mayor of Swale, Cllr George Bobbin, was among the afternoon’s visitors, along with family members of some of the home’s 59 residents.

Among a host of entertaining highlights, singing group, Spare Parts, proved to be in fine voice and performed a selection of songs.

Lou Pearson, the care home’s assistant manager, said: “It was a lovely afternoon, enjoyed by all.

“The atmosphere was fantastic and residents really got into the spirit.

“I’d like to thank everyone for their support including family and friends of residents who donated items to the sales.”
