Vandals have been captured on CCTV brazenly damaging a convenience store.

The footage shows two people in hoodies smashing the window of Nisa Local in Newington High Street.

In the CCTV footage the vandals appear from Bull Lane around 4.20am on Thursday, September 28.

The latest incident comes after four 20mph speed signs in the village were vandalised with black paint.

Cllr Richard Palmer, who represents Newington, Upchurch and Hartlip at Swale council said the vandalism “wasn’t fair on the hard working business owner”.

He added: “Things are tough enough at the moment for businesses due to the cost of living crisis.

“There is a tendency that some people think they can do what like without any consequences as it’s hard for the police to identify them.”
