Child threatened with 'air weapon' in field near Rectory Road in Sittingbourne

A child believed to be as young as eight threatened another boy with an air gun in a park.

The incident happened on a field near Rectory Road in Sittingbourne when the victim, thought to be about 12, was approached by three other children, with some believed to be older than the victim.

It is understood the victim had the guy pointed to his head and was threatened by the boy for his bag.

Kent Police were called yesterday at about 6pm and today officers have been investigating in the area where the incident happened.

A force spokesman said: "One of the children, who was believed to be aged around eight-years-old, is reported to have pointed what was believed to be an air weapon towards the victim.

"Officers are currently in the area making inquiries surrounding the incident."
