Simon Reynolds protesting against plans for a coffe shop next door

Traders in Sittingbourne High Street have joined forces to fight off competition from a coffee shop giant which could move in next to the town’s olde worlde cafe.

Simon Reynolds, who runs A E Barrow and Sons, has won the backing of other businesses to fend off the proposals being considered by Swale Borough Council.

The coffee shop giant would move into the now disused former Halifax building – right next door to the popular and traditional shop.
