Teynham Community Hall, Station Road, gets revamp thanks to £10k Biffa fund award

It is hoped that Teynham Community Hall will be a more energy-efficient building for the community to enjoy.

That is because 13 metal windows, full of brittle glass, and four ill-fitting and rotten external wooden doors, have been replaced with double glazed windows and toughened laminated glass doors.

The cost of the work was covered by a £10,000 grant from Biffa Awards – a multi-million pound fund that helps to finance community projects across the UK.

Biffa grants officer Rachel Maidment visited the centre in Station Road to see how they looked.

She said: “We’re pleased to support projects like this one because they aim to improve the quality of facilities for the local community, as well as increasing environmental efficiency for a more sustainable future.”
