Coastbound carriageway of M2 between Sittingbourne and Faversham closed after crash between lorry and car

Part of the coastbound carriageway of the M2 is closed between Junction 5 for Sittingbourne and Junction 6 for Faversham after a crash involving a lorry and a car during the early hours of this morning.

The crash happened at about 1am and a diversion is in place through Sittingbourne and along the A2 to Faversham.

The carriageway has now been closed for about 10 hours so accident investigation work can be carried out at the scene.

The police have been contacted for further details.
