A main road was partially blocked following a car crash.

Traffic was between Junction 5 of the M2 and Rumstead Lane.

The incident has since been cleared.

Further congestion was caused further up the A249 by a broken down lorry, which blocked one lane southbound between the A2 and Stockbury roundabout.

There was queuing traffic between the Key Street roundabout and Junction 5 of the M2.

The lane has since been cleared but officers remain at the scene while the vehicle awaits recovery.

No injuries have been reported.
