Crash blocks Avenue of Remembrance, Sittingbourne

A crash has blocked a busy Sittingbourne road this morning.

The accident happened at the access road to the Sainsbury's store, where a car collided with the central reservation at 10.12am.

Police and ambulance crews are currently there, with a woman being treated for minor injuries.

An eyewitness said: "A car has gone through the 'keep left' bollard and hit a car on the other side.

"People are sitting on the pavement.

"I don't think anyone is seriously injured, but emergency services are not on the scene yet."

Traffic is said to have been building up in the area and the road will remain closed until past midday until the car has been removed.
