EVERY night, a vigil is held at the place where 16-year-old Michael Chapman died in his older brother David’s arms.

And grieving father Lloyd Chapman, speaking of the family’s devastation after his son's death at Gore Park, Sittingbourne, on Friday, June 16, said the vigil would continue until Michael’s funeral.

He said: "My wife Sue spends hours there and each night kids gather there and stay until the time Michael died.

"We are still in a state of disbelief. It is like living in another dimension because the shock is so unreal and I wait until others are out of the house before going into Michael’s room to sob.

"Until we can have the funeral, there is no sense of closure, but the arrangements cannot be confirmed until the body is released and because it is a murder case it makes it very hard."
