Danny Ward's hard work behind bringing Ryan Golding back to Sittingbourne says Jim Ward

Jim Ward praised joint manager and brother Danny for his perseverance in chasing striker Ryan Golding.

The striker returned to Sittingbourne last week in time to help his new club to a 3-1 midweek home win over Dulwich.

It was a victory that Jim Ward described as the "best of the season so far."

And Golding, who has been in blistering form for Crockenhill this season with a trio of hat-tricks already, netted again at the weekend in the FA Trophy 3-1 defeat at Hitchin.

But Jim Ward admitted it took some work to bring the former Brickie back to Bourne Park.

He said: "It’s been all down to the work of Dan, who chased after him for 10 days and eventually wore him down.

"He is the leading scorer in Kent with 19 goals now and he’s already got three for us."

The Brickies now meet another of the top teams this Saturday when they host third-placed Walton & Hersham.
