Blanket containing dead puppy found in bin by Biffa staff in Elm Grove in Murston, Sittingbourne

A dead puppy wrapped in a blanket has been found stuffed in a public bin.

It is believed the black and white dog, found this morning by Biffa staff in Elm Grove, Murston, Sittingbourne, died shortly after birth.

A dead puppy was found in a blanket which had been stuffed in a public bin around Elm Grove in Murston, Sittingbourne

The dog was black and white in colour, but the breed is unknown.

Swale Borough Council Stray Dog Service said: “Whilst we don't believe this was done maliciously, it was quite upsetting for the Biffa team who were going about their regular duties.

“If you find yourself in this unenviable position, please take appropriate measures to lay your pet to rest properly.

“This can mean cremation or burying them in your garden if appropriate. We are sorry for your loss.”
