Drivers suffered delays after a busy slip road was closed.
Traffic was initially unable to exit from the A249 at Bobbing roundabout to the Sheppey-bound carriageway.
Highways England said the closure was due to a broken down lorry and spillage.
Police, fire crews and Highways contractors were called to the scene.
It caused queues at the turn-off for Iwade and Kemsley, however, traffic has since returned to normal.
