A woman was trapped in her vehicle after it collided with a coach on the M2 this afternoon.

There were still delays on the busy motorway at 6pm following the crash at 3.45pm.

The two-vehicle smash caused severe delays between Faversham and Sittingbourne on the London-bound carriageway.

One lane was closed and tailbacks stretched back about four-and-a-half miles.

Firefighters have revealed they used specialist cutting equipment to free the woman from her car after it collided with a coach.

The road has now reopened but there are still long delays in the area.

A police spokesman said earlier: "Officers are in attendance along with Kent Fire and Rescue Service and South East Coast Ambulance Service.

"No serious injuries have been reported."
