Ex-Ramsgate boss Jim Ward named new Sittingbourne manager

Jim Ward is back in Kent football after being named the new manager of Sittingbourne.

Chairman Andy Spice confirmed the appointment of the 60 year-old Scot on Tuesday afternoon, with the task of reviving the fortunes of the Bourne Park club, following a poor campaign in Ryman League Division 1 South.

The Bourne chairman turned to Ward (pictured) after former player Marc Seager, who was in temporary charge for four games in March, turned down the chance of a permanent return to his old club.

Joe Dowley was put in charge following Richard Brady's departure to take over at Leatherhead, but stood down at the end of the season, due to increased personal and work commitments, but hopes to stay on as player.
