Sittingbourne will need to find a replacement defensive midfield player for Saturday's FA Cup preliminary round home tie with Peacehaven & Telscombe.

Assistant manager Jamie Coyle confirmed that Brian Glover will definitely miss the game after picking up a knee injury in last week’s 1-0 home defeat by Dulwich.

Coyle said: "Brian hasn’t been able to have a scan on it yet because they are waiting for the bruising to go down, but it looks like he has damaged medial ligaments so he could be out out for some time.

"It’s a real shame because he has been a rock for us so far this season, but it means someone else has the chance to step up and claim the shirt."

At least Sittingbourne know that they will not have to worry about more floodlight problems on Saturday after Tuesday’s Ryman League Division 1 South game with tenants Maidstone was abandoned after just six minutes of playing time because of two failures.

The match has been rearranged for Wednesday, providing neither side are involved in a midweek FA Cup replay.

Coyle added: "It was disappointing for both sets of players because they were all looking forward to it, and we were particularly keen to play because we wanted the chance to bounce back after losing to Dulwich last Saturday."
