An investigation is underway as a car was left abandoned after it smashed into a wall this morning.

Police were called to Borden Lane, Borden, at 12.42am after the white Audi A3 crashed near the junction with Riddles Road.

A police spokesman said no-one was there when officers arrived and they are looking at what happened.

Firefighters were also sent at about 1am as the car was leaking.

They made sure there was no danger of it catching light and left by about 1.30am.
