A kind-hearted firm has presented a pre-school with disability ramps free of charge after their original ones were stolen by metal thieves.

To show their appreciation, pupils and staff at Hartlip Pre-School presented a thank you card to Wayne Cotter, director of Medway Mobility in Chatham, when he delivered them on Tuesday.

Two-year-old Victoria, whose arms have not fully developed, relies on the equipment to help her use stairs safely.

The ramps were taken after the culprits forced the padlocks of two outside sheds.

Mr Cotter offered to replace them after reading an article about the theft in the Sittingbourne Messenger.

Pre-school manager Donna Brazier said: "We’re so pleased with them and so overwhelmed by what they have done."
