Football agent Dax Jones from Upchurch charged with bribery at Barnsley FC involving Thomas Wright

A football agent has been charged in connection with bribery at a League One football club, following a newspaper expose.

Dax Price, of Susans Lane in Upchurch, near Sittingbourne, is one of three men charged with bribery offences at Barnsley FC, along with the club's former assistant manager Thomas Wright.

The 47-year-old is to appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court on September 24, two years after a newspaper investigation.

Former Barnsley assistant manager, Thomas Wright, who now holds the same job at Carlisle United, was charged with two counts of accepting a bribe.

Price is charged with two counts of paying and facilitating a bribe.

Giuseppe Pagliara, 62, of Manchester, faces the same charges.

It come after an investigation by the City of London Police Fraud Squad following undercover work by the Daily Telegraph between May and September 2016.

A criminal investigation by fraud squad officers started in November 2016.
