THE funeral of Teynham road accident victim Matt Lock took place today at Vinters Park Crematorium in Maidstone.

Mr Lock, 22, from Chalkwell Road, Sittingbourne, died with his best friend Kevin Tyler when the car Mr Tyler was driving collided with a tree after leaving the road.

After the accident Mr Lock was described by his mother, Joanna Butler, as "a loveable rogue who was larger than life."

Both men died instantly when 22-year-old Mr Tyler's Peugeot 306 crashed into the garden of Mockbegger Farmhouse in Lower Road, Teynham.

Mr Tyler, from The Knole, Faversham, was buried on December 23. An inquest into their deaths has been opened and adjourned. At the time of the accident, Swale police believed another car had been involved and appealed for witnesses.
