Firefighters were called to Playstool Road, Newington, near Sittingbourne on New Year's Day (Wednesday) following reports of sheds and an outbuilding alight.

Two crews wearing breathing apparatus tackled the blaze using a main jet and a high-pressure hose reel jet.

One shed was destroyed, another was almost destroyed and some fire damage was caused to the plastic fascia of nearby homes.

There were no reports of any injuries.

The cause, although not confirmed, is believed to have been accidental.

The emergency call was received at 5.23pm.

Firefighters were at the scene for an hour and took water from a fire hydrant.

Additional emergency lighting was needed.
