A police helicopter was spotted over Sittingbourne in the early hours of this morning.

They were called at 12.39am after receiving a report of a man stealing fuel from a lorry parked on the A249 near Bobbing in a lay-by.

Residents reported hearing a helicopter flying low over Sonora Fields and Bobbing last night.

A police spokesman said: “Officers attended and carried out a search of the area assisted by the National Police Air Service helicopter but the suspect was not located.”
