Health and Safety Executive launch investigation into machinery incident at Ibstock, Sittingbourne

An investigation has been launched after a worker was taken to hospital after he was injured by machinery.

The emergency services were called to concrete manufacturer Ibstock’s premises, formally Supreme Concrete, in Crown Quay Lane, Sittingbourne.

Police officers and paramedics attended at around 10.20am on Friday, September 1 and the man was assessed at the scene.

He was treated for his injuries before being taken to Medway Maritime Hospital for further medical attention.

Crews were also joined by the air ambulance’s road vehicle.

The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) was informed and a spokesman has since confirmed it is aware of the incident and investigating.

A spokesman for Ibstock confirmed an incident is under investigation but could not comment any further.
