Kids enjoy colouring at Sittingbourne library

Bookworms from Milton Court Primary School enjoyed a visit to Sittingbourne Library.

Their visit comes in the run-up to tomorrow's National Libraries Day, which has libraries across the country hosting celebratory events.

The five and six year-olds enjoyed browsing the shelves and picking up colourful picture books, as well as meeting the librarians.

Activities are being staged throughout the week at Kent libraries and at colleges and universities, including visits by authors, exhibitions and craft activities.

Among the vast array of titles attracting the children’s attention was the classic Diary of a Wombat, by Jackie French, with illustrations by Bruce Whatley, and a book on the ever-popular Moshi Monsters.
