Kids not divided by maths day

Grove Park school plan their next assignment

Forty children from four Sittingbourne primary schools converged on Westlands School for a mathematical fun day.

Westlands is a specialist school in maths and computing and invited the year six youngsters to enjoy a series of numbers-based tasks.

One included working out the probability of rolling marbles into an enclosed space and then comparing the success rate with figures on a seven national database, explained deputy head Neil Golding, designed to test skills in using databases.

The event was organised by Westlands school’s Louise Cox and the 10 and 11 year old children attending came from Grove Park, Regis Manor, Minterne and Holywell primaries.
