A 39-year-old man is in custody after witnesses reported seeing someone wielding a knife in Sittingbourne.

Police were called to Regis Crescent in the town at 6pm last night following "reports of concern for a man".

When officers arrived the man refused to come out of the house. At 8pm he left, and was taken to hospital for treatment.
