About 20 firefighters tackled a huge fire in Hartlip involving 300 tonnes of baled hay.

They were called to Matts Hill Road at about 3.40pm on Wednesday (October 26).

Three fire engines and a water carrier were sent and crews worked to prevent the fire from spreading.

Strood and Medway crews also attended the fire and took it in shifts to watch it burn out by itself.

They were still there this morning.
