Anthony Lewis doesn’t have much of a head for heights.

But he pushed his fears aside to do a bungee jump in aid of Lola’s Journey.

The fundraising campaign was set up earlier this year by his cousin Kellie Humphrey and her partner Noel Stockdale to raise money so their four-year-old daughter Lola can undergo stem cell surgery in America.

The youngster has four-limb cerebral palsy, global development delay and cerebral vision caused by birth trauma. The surgery will enable her to have a better quality of life.

The married dad of one, of Harold Road, Sittingbourne, did the 200ft jump at The Wheatsheaf, in East Street, on Saturday.

He was watched by Lola and her parents as well as his wife Liz and their two-year-old son Freddie.

The 30-year-old said: “It went really well but I was very nervous and scared before I jumped.

"I was about the fifth or sixth person to jump so I was watching everyone else which was probably worse than going first. I wouldn’t pay to do it again but I’d do it for charity.”

Mr Lewis raised £750. That money added to the funds raised from a family fun day in August plus donations takes the total up to £8,000.
