An overturned lorry is blocking the Sheppey-bound carriageway of the A249 at Sittingbourne.

The Spanish lorry crashed near the underpass at the junction with the B2006 at Bobbing around 5.50am this morning.

Motorists have been warned to expect delays. A diversion is in force.

Liubov Nestorova-Prykhodko from Medway was one of the first on the scene. She said: "The slip road will be shut for a long time until police clear it up. Both of the lorry drivers are all right, not injured, just scared."

She and two other people helped get the drivers out of the cab.

The other carriageway was closed overnight for roadworks.
