This man is being sought by police after a terrifying knifepoint robbery.

The 27-year-old victim was walking home from Sittingbourne station when an attacker demanded money.

But when the local man tried to hand over cash, the thug swore at him, demanded his mobile and pushed him to the ground - leaving the victim with cuts and grazes.

Then as the victim got back to his feet, the mugger demanded his phone again, threatening him with a knife. He handed over his phone before the offender ran off in the direction of a petrol station.

It happened near the Iron Mountain building, in Mill Way, between 1.15am and 1.25am last Saturday.

The suspect is described as a white man in his early 20s, of medium build and around 5ft 10in. He is thought to be left-handed and was clean-shaven, wearing a plain red baseball cap, black jeans and a black puffa jacket.

Kent Police has now released an image of a man officers believe might have vital information.

DC Phil Pead said: "This was a nasty incident that left the victim feeling extremely shaken up and in real fear for his safety.

"We will relentlessly pursue anyone who commits offences involving knives. We are working to identify and locate this male and bring him to justice."
