JAMES HAMMON: reported missing from home

A BODY, believed to be that of a missing Sittingbourne man, has been discovered in woods in a nearby village.

Police received a call at the weekend stating that a farm worker had found the body of a man in woods in Vigo Lane, Borden.

The body has not been formally identified but police officers say they believe it is that of missing 26-year-old James Hammon of Basset Road, Sittingbourne.

Mr Hammon went missing on July 12 at 10pm after leaving his family home to go for a walk.

At the time, both his family and police expressed concerned because they said he had suffered depression in the past. Police are not treating the death as suspicious.
