POLICE are hunting three masked ram-raiders who were involved in the attempted theft of a cash machine at a petrol station.

The machine, at the Jet station in Key Street, near Sittingbourne, was badly damaged but no cash was stolen.

Police want to speak to anyone who may have seen the ram-raid which occurred at about 2am last Thursday.

In the few days before the incident, a black old style 5 series BMW was seen in the area, although a Land Rover, stolen from Medway, was used to carry out the raid. The Land Rover was later abandoned and set alight at Chestnut Street, near Borden.
