Massive 500 sq m grass and undergrowth fire at Scrapsgate Road, Minster-on-Sea

Firefighters took on a blaze that destroyed about 500 sq m of grass an undergrowth.

They were called out just after 6pm yesterday to the scene at Scrapsgate Road, Minster-on-Sea.

They used an extended hose reel jet, portable water tanks with spray known as flexi packs, and beaters to tackle the fire.

They spent a long period at the scene afterwards damping down the area.
