The cold weather didn’t stop a tree planting session from going ahead.

About 20 volunteers pulled on their wellies and took their own spades to help plant 300 trees at Milton Creek Country Park on Sunday.

Trustee Lynda Marshall said: “It went very well.

“We were also cleaning up and tidying up the trees we planted last year.

“The new trees are near the bank behind the plumbing centre and the others are on the long path behind the houses by the Green Porch Close entrance.”

Keen gardener Dave Eldred came along with tools to plant

A batch of 420 were supplied in total to the Friends group by the Woodland Trust for the green space.
