Drivers face eight-weeks of disruption due to roadworks along the A2 Canterbury Road, Sittingbourne

Motorists and residents on a busy stretch of road are being told to expect eight weeks of delays while roadworks are put in place.

People living along the A2 Canterbury Road, Sittingbourne, will have to put up with work close to the junction of Murston Road and Rectory Road.

Maintenance and repair work began on Saturday and will last until Saturday, May 27.

Traffic control, which will slow motorists down, are set to be put in place while works are completed.

People in the area are also putting up with a road closure in nearby Coombe Drive, to allow for gas main replacement works to be carried out, which is expected to last until Wednesday, April 12.
