A new date has been set for the trial of a man accused of causing the death of a policeman in a road accident.

Stephen Pirie, of Ramsgate Road, Broadstairs, appeared at Canterbury Crown Court on Monday. He had denied causing the death of Swale PC Phillip Pratt (pictured) by dangerous driving on June 14 last year. He also denied a second charge of death by careless driving.

Pirie's trial has been set for Tuesday, February 8.
