A simple Valentine’s gift heralded the start of a beautiful friendship for Sean Quested... with Peter Andre.

The Iwade resident can count the singer and reality TV good guy as a friend after the low-key romantic gesture seven years ago.

Stuck for a present for his partner Emma on Valentine’s Day, the business unit manager treated her to a copy of the Australian’s CD Unconditional: Love Songs, bought in Tesco, Sheerness.

As part of the album package, fans had the opportunity of a “meet and greet” with the Mysterious Girl star.

This led to a bond being formed which culminated in Sean, 43, Emma, 37, and their daughter Freya, nine, being invited to Peter’s Cyprus villa to celebrate an Andre family wedding last month.

He said: “Peter’s genuine, just as he is on TV; a normal bloke who happens to be a good friend of mine.

“Once you’re in the Andre circle, they treat you as one of their own.”

Peter’s brother Danny married Sunny Nersian last month.

After a ceremony in Harlow, guests including Sean and his brood flew to Cyprus.

A party at Peter’s “sun-kissed villa” was a highlight of a week of celebrations.

Festivities included Greek music and dancing, with Sean reportedly being hauled up to perform a version of the traditional arms-round-shoulders, side-stepping Zorba routine.

Sean said: “I was invited, or should I say, ‘made’ to take the floor, much to the delight of the 100-plus guests.

“It was payback from the best man, because at the stag do, I played a prank on him.”

Close ties with Peter and his three brothers means invitations to shows flow thick and fast.

On Saturday, Sean will head to Cardiff for a “boys only” weekend.

This will involve watching the singer perform.

Afterwards, the 41-year-old star and his entourage are due to decamp to a club.

There his older brother Mike is playing DJ.

Sean insists it is his daughter who profits most from their famous association.

He said: “Freya gets absolutely spoilt rotten.

“She gets to go backstage, meet the band, the dancers and see the whole production and set-up.”
