A family has been left devastated after thieves stole a motorhome containing priceless photographs of their son who died last year.

Police are calling on help from the public after the motorhome was stolen from a driveway in Adelaide Drive in Sittingbourne.

Inside the vehicle were pictures of the family's 49-year-old son who had special needs and died nearly a year ago.

The motorhome - stolen sometime between May 31 and June 1 - was used by the family as a way to take their son on holiday.

It contained photographs and items chosen by him such as the TV, stereo, board games, DVDs and CDs.

It has the words ‘Bessacarr E435’ in green lettering on the front and is powered by a Fiat Decato diesel engine.

Investigating officer PC Lucy Nelson said: "This has been very upsetting for the family, who are now not only dealing with the first anniversary of their son’s death approaching, but now the reported theft of a vehicle in which they had many happy memories.

"I would encourage anyone who may think they have seen this motorhome to get in touch by calling 101 and quoting crime reference XY/020867/16."
