Sittingbourne town centre assault leads police to appeal for witnesses after woman left with facial injuries

Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman was left with facial injuries.

The 50-year-old was walking past the Forum shopping centre, when a group of men started verbally abusing her.

She walked away but the men surrounded her and began pushing.

She managed to run away into the High Street but was chased and hit in the face.

Members of the public came to her aid and got her into a taxi.

Officers are asking witnesses to come forward, particularly those who helped.

It happened between 11pm and 11.45pm on Saturday, April 5.
