Sittingbourne: Police swoop on car in The Forum shopping centre car park after man threatened

Police were called after a man was threatened in Sittingbourne town centre this afternoon.

Officers were sent to a disturbance in Avenue of Remembrance at 12.19pm.

They later stopped a vehicle in The Forum shopping centre car park.

A police spokesman said: "It was reported that two men had made threats to a man before driving away in a car.

"Officers attended the scene and following an area search requested a suspicious vehicle to stop in a car park off St Michael’s Road.

"The occupants of the car were then searched however no offences were identified.

"Enquiries into the incident remain ongoing."
