Police were left speechless when they stopped a lorry driver trying to join the motorway.

Kent Police Roads officers detained the trucker, who had been driving onto the M2 at J5 for Sittingbourne and Maidstone.

But when they checked his phone to see what was so important he had to break the law to text, they were "gobsmacked".

The driver was stopped trying to get onto the M2

They found he had been in a Whatsapp conversation with his partner about the legislation surrounding using your mobile phone while driving.

The trucker was "educated" by officers after trying to find out the law on mobile phone use while driving

A police tweeted simply said: "We have educated him!"
