A man has been reunited with his bag filled with hundreds of pounds thanks to two Sittingbourne women.

Phillipa Day and Cheryl Zweck found the bag outside Obidosh in Preston Street, Faversham, on the afternoon of Tuesday, December 8 and took it to Faversham police station.

The police have thanked the women for their honesty.

PC Paul Williams of the Faversham Neighbourhood Team who handed the bag back to its grateful 44-year-old owner, said: "I find this a remarkable act of honesty during what must be tough month for most people and commend both the ladies for their spirit of goodwill. The gentlemen who received had lost the bag was so relieved to have been reunited with it and it’s nice to know that there are people out there with such integrity."
