A popular boot fair is moving home for the winter.

Sittingbourne's Central Park Stadium will be the winter venue for the Leysdown boot fair, which has operated on land in Leysdown Road, Sheppey, for the past 19 years.

The weekly boot fair, run by Henry Cooper, kicks off at the stadium in Church Road, on the Eurolink Business Park, this Sunday. It will run each Sunday until March when it returns to Leysdown for the start of the Island's summer season.

Mr Cooper said: "We are getting a lot of interest, particularly because times are tough at the moment and people are still after a bargain.

"Hopefully we can be as successful in Sittingbourne as we are in Leysdown."

Sunday's boot fair runs from 7am to 2pm. Charges are £9 a car and £13 a van, with charity stalls free. New goods by appointment only.
