As many as 750 homes in parts of Sittingbourne may have been left without power this afternoon.

Households in the town as well as Bobbing and Iwade were potentially affected by the power cut.

The failure was reported to UK Power Networks at 2.30pm.

UK Power Networks was alerted

On its website, the operator said: “There was a power cut in this area earlier. Our engineers worked hard to fix it and your power should now be back on.

“We are sorry for any trouble this may have caused you.”

It advised anyone still experiencing problems to try resetting trip switches or to get in touch directly.

The power cut was attributed to engineers having to redirect power due to a fault on the electricity network.
