People driving around Wormshill could be forgiven if they get a little lost after a prankster altered a road sign.

A joker armed with a black felt-tip pen and yellow paint has altered a large notice alerting motorists that Bottom Pond is closed.

The sign now spells out an altogether ruder message that has given a number of locals a chuckle as they drive past.

Jon Pratty, who snapped a picture of it as he drove past yesterday, said: “It was funny seeing the sign as I drove through the stormy weather yesterday.

“It was very professionally done, made me laugh out loud.”
